Fashion Week San Diego

Thursday night of Runway Shows featured a collaboration with Styled to Rock designers Andre Soriano (veteran designer of Fashion Week San Diego!), Cecilia Aragon, and Dexter Simmons. Naturally, when I heard the word, "rock," I wanted to wear something edgier than my normal, ultra feminine looks, so I opted on a blazer with shoulder embellishments and some mixed leather prints on my shoes and handbag. As you'll see, I kept my FWSD looks pretty simple, and relied heavily on the classic lbd (little black dress) as my base.

Here's more on the new reality series, Styled to Rock: "Music meets fashion in Style’s first-ever competition series “Styled to Rock” from executive producer and fashion icon Rihanna.  The hour-long 10-episode series will give 12 up-and-coming designers, the opportunity of a lifetime – to create unique fashion pieces for A-list celebrity talent.  The stakes will be high as these up-and-coming designers vie for the title of America’s next trendsetting designer. Pharrell Williams, Erin Wasson and Mel Ottenberg serve as mentors to these designers as they experience demanding real-life challenges made to push their creative boundaries."

SD Style Bloggers' 1st Blogiversary!

Since the day I started this blog (on Wordpress back then), I had been looking for a local style community in San Diego. Then, while I was on blogging hiatus, POOF! the San Diego Style Bloggers came into existence...and I am so glad that they did. Here's a #ThrowbackThursday post (well, throwing it allll the way back to August that is).

This summer, I attended their 1st birthday soirĂ©e at Shimmer and it did not disappoint! The girly snacks & refreshments were plentiful, the hair & nail stations were amazing, but most of all, I enjoyed meeting so many fellow bloggers. It was so cool to interact with likeminded individuals who each shared a passion for blogging, fashion, and/or photography. I can't wait for the next get-together!

Keep up with all of us via FACEBOOK//TWITTER//BLOG//YOUTUBE ^_^

Thank you, Shimmer for having us at your lovely store! Shimmer not only has the latest trends in fashion at affordable prices, but they have a wide selection of sizes for everyone. Can't get better than that! And, to top it off, now they have Halloween costumes on their website. Check out their selection here.

Left: With my friend Laura, whom I met at a Yelle concert at the Casbah a few years back. Check out her blog here.
Right: With Shimmer store manager & fashionista Judy! Thanks for being an AMAZING host!
Here's a casual look I styled at the event.
