LA Fashion Weekend

Although I've never been to a Fashion Week, I think the next best thing has got to be a Fashion Weekend, right?! My friends & I had an amazing night with complimentary cocktails
from Little Black Dress Vodka, makeovers from Napoleon, cupcakes from Bubba Sweets,
& of course, a fashion show!
A cute boy band called Midnight Red performed & best of all, they were all dressed up for the occasion!
Dina Bar-El: Loved the movement in her gowns and the colors were so bright & fun!
Nathanaelle Couture: Her vintage-inspired looks were creative, classic, and artistic.

Anthony Franco Designs: Although all 3 collections were amazing, this one was my favorite by far
(No, it wasn't because there were shirtless men or men in suits, or men...)!
I loved the pops of color & the variety of materials and prints on his designs.
Perfect for Spring!
I met a new friend: stylist & blogger, Alysha Nicole of Fashion-Aly.com. Isn't she totally gorgeous?
I absolutely adored her galaxy hi-lo skirt & how she paired it with leather, chains & boots to give it that edgy look.
You go girl!

Battle of the Brands: Glitter Booties

For all my new readers, I just wanted to preface this post by mentioning that I started this series to show how you don't have to shell out a million bucks to look like it. All of us have an inner frugalista in us, and seriously, who doesn't love a good deal? Problem is, sales are hard to come by at the start of the season, so even if you have the patience to wait it out, oftentimes, you won't have much of a chance to wear that coveted item by the time you get your hands on it. As seasoned shopaholics, we all know that the longer we wait,  the more difficult it becomes to acquire your size in your preferred color. I'm typically a size 8 or 8.5 in footwear so I'm always paranoid when I skip out on something because I know it will be harder for me to buy it later since I wear such a common size.

I love the girly, glitter panel on these leather ankle booties. It adds just the right amount of sparkle to any fall or winter outfit. They're perfect for day or night and best of all, comfortable! A win all around for me.

Why pay more when you can pay less? Which of these is your favorite?

Neon Panda

I could not resist wearing my obnoxious, neon panda top paired with these fun little sandals when I visited one of my hometowns this weekend. Do you have any outfits that instantly transform you into an entirely different mood the second you put it on? Brights, stars, hearts, and elastic waistbands never fail to remind me of a childhood playing with my Barbies while watching Barney. I felt like an awkward little kid who dressed herself for the first time! I had to wear sunnies to shield my eyes from the sun, but also from my own highlighter brightness. Good thing I didn't run into any familiar faces because I could see that conversation getting weird. "Oh, hey I haven't seen you since 8th grade...I see you haven't changed much..." Let's just say middle & high school were definitely style experimental eras for me and I'll leave the rest up to your imagination.

Summer's End

Sure, the calendar may say that autumn has already begun, but everyone is still walking around in flip flops and shorts. Bidding farewell to summer is a bittersweet thing, but to tell you the truth, I'm a little sick of all this abundant sunshine (yes, that's possible). Last weekend, I went out for lunch and couldn't resist catching the sunset at the beach. Although, I admit I can't WAIT to bring out my scarves, (faux) fur collars and coats, I settled for this light knit sweater and these metallic wash jeans in the meantime. This particular pair is perfect for the transition because they're less heavy than regular blue denim and adds some sparkle too. My next transition step? Scarves. Stay tuned!
My watch is shown here with the cover open so you can see how subtle it looks. I love bracelets that double as a watch. Perfect, especially if you've got places to go all weekend.
